Crofter Breakfast Tea was inspired by a little grey fergie tractor. The little grey fergie has lived on our croft since she was born in 1947. She is still a working tractor.
Like the fergie, Crofter Breakfast Tea is a versatile blend equally suited to breakfast, a flask on the go or, (in true Tiree style) accompanied by a couple of biscuits after an already large meal. Leaving it in a teapot on the stove to stew for a couple of hours is traditional, but entirely optional.
Ingredients: Indian Assam Black Tea, Kenyan Black Tea, Sri Lankan Black Tea.
Brew for 3 mins in 100 degree water
Net weight: 60g (20 teabags) | 30g (10 teabags)
Plastic free tea bags. Use commercial compost or your council food waste where required.
English breakfast tea is a blend of black teas, strong enough to take milk. Crofter is ours: Indian Assam, Kenyan and Sri Lankan black tea. It works at breakfast, in a flask on the go or, in true Tiree style, with a couple of biscuits after an already large meal.
Despite the name, English breakfast tea started with Scottish merchants. Read the history.
Yes. It is a traditional breakfast blend of Assam, Kenyan and Sri Lankan black tea. We named it after a tractor.
Yes, it is black tea. For a breakfast-style cuppa without the caffeine, try Decroft.

The tea was braw. Nice blend. In a spirit of positive feedback, and I hope not in the spirit of a ‘blow-in’ I’d suggest you move from the plastic tea bag to some kind of compostable containers for the leaf tea. I realise this could be tricky on the island but if your tea-bags are being made off island then it should be possible. If you mentioned this in your marketing materials, I think it would help your sales. HTH

Hi Wylie! Thanks so much for your feedback! The tea bags themselves are in fact plastic free and 100% biodegradable – it sounds like I could definitely do a better job of highlighting that! From the next production run, the pouches will be degradable within 12-24 months in the general waste stream. Glad you enjoyed the tea 🙂
