Description

Gneiss Earl Grey has been inspired by a lighthouse! Gneiss is the bedrock of the Hebrides and Tiree gneiss was the intended building material for the Skerryvore lighthouse, but after the first three foundational courses the builders opted for softer Mull granite for the rest of the tower!ย

Like its namesake, Gneiss Earl Grey is a solid base for a great cuppa, topped with lighter notes.

Questions about Gneiss

Does Earl Grey have caffeine?

Yes. Earl Grey is a black tea, so it has caffeine, like a breakfast tea. If you want the cuppa without it, try Decroft, our decaf black tea.

What are the blue flowers?

Cornflowers. They are part of the blend.

How do I brew it?

3 minutes in 100 degree water.

Why is it called Gneiss?

Gneiss (say “nice”) is the bedrock of the Hebrides. Tiree gneiss was meant to build the Skerryvore lighthouse, but after the first three courses the builders switched to softer Mull granite. Like its namesake, Gneiss Earl Grey is a solid base, topped with lighter notes.

Are the tea bags plastic free?

Yes, our tea bags are plastic free.
